Our 1-Day We Development Challenge
Himani Musku and friends from Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy IMSA SWENext Club in Aurora United States took up a Web Development Training Challenge on 25th August 2024. They delivered and dissected basics like HTML, no code website creation and guidelines to web development.
Teach Girls Tech Foundation Empowers Students Through School Quiz Competition in Rivers State
As part of its grassroots education outreach, Teach Girls Tech Foundation (formerly MCS Initiative) successfully organized a Quiz Competition at a community secondary school in Rivers State. The initiative engaged students in science, mathematics, current affairs, spelling, and general knowledge—promoting academic excellence, confidence, and healthy competition. Through this program, TGT Foundation continues to inspire young learners, identify talent early, and strengthen interest in STEM education within underserved communities.
Teach Girls Tech Foundation Founder Receives Prestigious TechWomen Award
Teach Girls Tech Foundation proudly celebrates its Founder, Engr. Ejiroghene May John, on her receipt of the prestigious TechWomen Award. This global recognition honors her outstanding leadership, advocacy for inclusive STEM education, and unwavering commitment to empowering girls and women through technology, innovation, and education. The award reflects years of impactful work across communities in Nigeria and beyond, advancing access, equity, and opportunity in STEM.
World Environment Day: Teaching Climate Responsibility Through Action
Teach Girls Tech Foundation, in partnership with the Nigeria Environmental Society (Port Harcourt Chapter), commemorated World Environment Day with tree-planting activities at CSS Olanada and Army Children Primary School, both located in GRA, Port Harcourt.
As part of the initiative, students planted hybrid tree species known for their faster growth and adaptability. The activity was complemented with environmental education sessions focused on climate change, ecosystem balance, and the long-term benefits of tree planting.
This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to environmental sustainability and youth engagement. By combining practical action with learning, we aim to raise environmentally conscious students who understand their role in protecting the planet.
